DAY 2 FOR DINA

Day 3 (2020). Lyrics by Dan Zlotnick

Day 2 for Dina called for rain

But the weatherman he didn’t know to warn her about the pain

From the treatment she received on Day 1

But she got up with a mind to find the sun

She let both the dogs out on the lawn

She always thought she’d bury them

But now maybe she was wrong

She thought a lot like that these days

But then she heard the voice inside her say

Trade your worries, trade your worries for a song

Trade your worries, instead of trying to prove ‘em wrong

She left her umbrella by the door

‘Cause if you hide from everything, well what is living for?

She listened to the rain hit her skin

The music drowned the pain within

Trade your worries, trade your worries for a song

Trade your worries, instead of trying to prove ‘em wrong

Trade your worries, trade your worries for a song

Trade your worries, instead of trying to prove ‘em wrong

Dina smiled while the music played

She said from now on this is where I want to stay

The songs will be the ships to carry me

Through the storms to come on Day 3
